For all the reasons we love Twitter, there are an equal number of reasons we hate it. The following 35 personas are the main contributors to our loathing.

Forty-seven years of life has yielded no spawn for this man. E-Harmony has failed him, while Match.com sadly yielded no matches. Chris Clemons + Twitter + Equality = One Giant Mess

chrisclemonsOn average, it doesn’t behoove professional athletes to wax poetic on political and social issues without a good deal of information to back up any statements they may make. While some athletes can hold court on divisive, non-sports-related topics, those rare birds are few and far between. Suffice it to say that Seahawks defensive end Chris Clemons is not one of those rare birds.

On Tuesday afternoon, Clemons started a bit of a firestorm on Twitter with the following tweet:

Be A Part of the (Interactive) Super Bowl XLVI Recap!

I am of the belief that the people who read this website are some of the wittiest, most intelligent, best-looking people anyone could ever possibly meet. While your good looks may not play a role in what I’m about to propose to you, your wit and intelligence certainly will.

You see, every year I like to recap the Super Bowl in some form or fashion (here’s an article from last year for reference). This year will be no different. Well, slightly different.

This year, rather than just going on and on about my own opinions of the game, the ads, the halftime show, the Puppy Bowl, the pageantry, the commentators, the event and any of its surroundings as a whole, I want to include all of you, as well. Yes, I’m lazy. I thank you in advance for your help.

For those of you who follow me on Twitter, I’ll be brain-dumping all my immediate thoughts there for the better part of the afternoon. If you’d like to contribute a brief quip that could possibly find its way into the interactive recap, by all means please send those thoughts to @alexssn.

The Inevitable Media Conversation

Almost every day of my life, I pick up a newspaper and read it.  A physical newspaper. A dead tree. Killed for my enjoyment. Take that, hippies.

Unlike many of my contemporaries, I enjoy reading the newspaper. I’m not hardcore like some people. I don’t read the whole thing, front to back. I avoid the boring sh*t. My focus generally lends itself to the sports page and whatever else I have time for. Still, even that little bit of interaction with the printed word makes me a rare breed in this day and age.

Newspapers are failing. It’s no big secret. They’ve been in disrepair for the better part of the past decade. As the internet has become the world’s premier source for information, newspapers have taken a backseat in people’s everyday lives. Why read a paper when you can have news delivered instantly to your computer? It’s a fair question, and one that cannot be logically refuted.
