Two goals. Both by Sanna Nyassi (pictured above, second from right). That’s all it took for the Sounders FC to win their second consecutive U.S. Open Cup. In the process, they become the first MLS team ever to win back-to-back Open titles.
On top of all that, the hometown 11 displayed their talents in front of a record crowd of over 30,000 loyal spectators. Good work, fans.
Congratulations to the Sounders on their 2010 U.S. Open Cup Championship!
Now go watch The Drew Carey Show…
P.S. For more coverage on the Sounders FC, check out my good friend Josh Mayers’ futbol blog over at The Seattle Times.
We just won the U.S. Open Cup…. AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I watched this game through and through and can officially say this was the most entertaining soccer game I have ever witnessed. Love the yellow jerseys by the way.
I hate those jerseys. They look like crossing guards.
Nyassi is actually second from right in the picture above (number 23). An absolutely electric atmosphere last night. Couldn’t be more proud of my fellow Seattle-ites. Go Sounders Go!
Good call, Sam. I’ve made the correct edits. All I saw was crossing guards. It was hard to tell who was who.
