Special to Seattle Sportsnet
First off, amazing job this past weekend. Especially on Sunday against Portland State. Phil Nelson came out hot and we literally helped shut him down by getting in his head which is exactly what we’re here to do.
The Dawg Pack was recognized by Percy Allen of The Seattle Times and even got mentioned nationally in the AP’s game story.
Here is a message I received from Phil Nelson himself after the game: “Yeah thanks I appreciate it…good work out there yall did good.”
The dirt for this game is a little slim so we’re going to have to be creative.
On that note, on with the dirt…
-San Jose State Spartans at Washington Huskies

-Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion
-San Jose State is a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
-The Spartans finished tied for 6th in the conference last year with a 13-17 record.
-SJSU returns four starters from last year’s squad.
-The Spartans are 1-0 this season after defeating perennial powerhouse William Jessup 89-63.
-Jr. #2 G Adrian Oliver is most likely going to be our main target throughout our matchup with SJSU.
For those that don’t know, Oliver was a Husky three years ago as a member of the recruiting class that included Quincy Pondexter, Spencer Hawes, and Phil Nelson. Adrian left the following season to be closer to home.
That doesn’t mean we can’t give him a hard time though. Keep thinking of things to chant at him and ways to get into his head, because he’s a pretty damn good player.
As a guard, Adrian sure likes to cough the ball up. He almost had twice as many turnovers than assists last season. He also likes to jack up threes but unfortunately for his teammates, they only go in 26% of the time. Move closer!
-Jr. #5 G Justin Graham definitely fits the role of Californian. Just look at that hair.
-Sr. #23 G Robert Owens goes by the nickname “Choo”. Says that anyone who knows him knows “THAT I AM THE TRUTH ON THE COURT”. Here he is on his 20th birthday.
