The Huskies pull off the one of the greatest comebacks ever and the Seahawks absolutely smoke the Jacksonville Jaguars (Remember a year ago, when the Jags were everyone’s sexy Superbowl pick? Oh, how they fall.), all of which makes this weekend one of the best in recent memory. Gotta love getting one W, let alone two.
The Dawgs are now 3-3 (three wins from bowl eligibility) overall and 2-1 in the Pac-10. The Seahawks are 2-3 and have effectively kept their playoff hopes alive, which rest squarely on the shoulders of Matt Hasselbeck.
A side note about the Husky game. Before the Dawgs made their late comeback — 15 unanswered points in under five minutes — that game was about as over as any game could possibly be. The stadium was so quiet that you could hear other fans’ conversations from sections away. Large chunks of fans had already left in an attempt to beat traffic. The players had their heads down and the team was basically just waiting for a miracle.
Luckily for us, that miracle arrived in the form of Mason Foster’s immaculate interception — shortly after a beautiful Jake Locker pass to Kavario Middleton for a touchdown — and Washington held on for an entirely unprecedented (and statistically, undeserved) victory.
All in all, a wonderful winning weekend. Go Dawgs! Go Hawks! Go Seattle!
