The NEW Seattle Sportsnet

We’ve changed. Thanks for noticing, that’s nice of you. Now allow me to address some of the questions you may have about the new Seattle Sportsnet.

Q: Why the change?

A: We just modified ourselves a couple weeks ago, so you may be wondering why we’ve undergone yet another transformation so soon. The biggest reason is that our original host, Blogspot.com, wasn’t flexible with our desired site layouts. Our site wasn’t fully functional with certain versions of web browsers and we wanted to maintain a user-friendly environment, while still providing our readers with outstanding content.

We also were forced to make major tedious HTML changes each time we submitted a post, which was taking away from our ability to sit back and write. That needed to stop.

Finally, we’re not very internet savvy here at Seattle Sportsnet, and the tech support through our old host was poor. Hence the move to WordPress.com, a smaller host community that provides us everything we’re looking for layout-wise, with better tech support for our simple minds. It works.

Q: How come some of the tabbed links reveal empty pages?

A: We haven’t completely finished our renovation just yet. We still need to go through and backlink posts to a few of our tabs (Mariners, Seahawks, Sounders, etc.). We’ll get there shortly, just give us some time. In the meantime, you can find older posts by utilizing the “Search” function in the left sidebar.

Q: What’s up with the formatting on the older posts?

A: In transferring our blog from the old host to the new, many of the fonts and formats of our posts were screwed up significantly. We’re in the process of making them look prettier, but we have around 300 posts dating back to the inception of the site in November that we need to fix. We’re getting there.

Q: Where did all the videos on the old posts go?

A: They didn’t make it when we transferred over. They’re gone. It’s pretty sad. We cried a little.

That’s all the major issues for now. Most of the site functions are similar to the old host, but if you experience any issues or have other questions, feel free to let us know. We want to make this site navigable for our readers, because YOU are what makes US possible. It’s a love-love relationship.
