Around Geoff Baker: Feb. 16, 2011

Hi. I’m Alex Akita from Seattle Sportsnet, and I’d like to welcome you to a new segment that we hope becomes a regular feature here on the site entitled “Around Geoff Baker.”

As you may know, Geoff is the Mariners beat writer for The Seattle Times. You can read his work here. Geoff recently started a new video segment on his blog entitled “Around The Blogosphere,” in which he comments on relevant articles on local blogs and websites.

To show Geoff that the blogosphere cares as much for him as he does about us, we’re bringing you a daily look at the man himself. When he posts ATB, we’ll post AGB. It’s that simple. Join us for all the fun.

As you can see, Geoff is sporting a charcoal polo shirt in today’s video. He has chosen to leave the top button unbuttoned, and my personal opinion is that this is an okay look for him.

Geoff’s energy level appears to be pretty high today. He’s moving around quite a bit on camera and you can see a real fire in his eyes. There’s a nice zest in his tone, as well.

The Arizona tan appears to be coming in nicely on Geoff. In previous installments of ATB he was looking a little pale. Not today, though. Some definite color settling in there. That’s great.

Geoff’s hair is slightly unkempt, but that’s okay. Slightly unkempt hair says, “I’m trying, but not too hard. You can tell I’m professional, but still quite a bit of fun.”

There’s a nice painting behind Geoff today. Check that out. It’s pretty cool.

  4. That freeze frame makes him look a bit like a muppet….

  5. Yes, pretty much EXACTLY like that guy. Or thing. Whatever. Except his shirt it buttoned up all the way…

  6. […] couple years ago we introduced a segment on the site entitled Around Geoff Baker, a semi-regular column that profiled the video stylings of The Seattle Times’┬áMariners beat […]
