West Virginia Down One Starter

West Virginia starting point guard Darryl Bryant broke his foot in the Mountaineers’ practice this afternoon. He will miss Thursday’s NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 game against Washington, and is out for the remainder of the season.

Bryant, a 6’2″ sophomore, averaged 9.3 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game this season for West Virginia.

Replacing him in the starting lineup will most likely be junior guard Joe Mazzulla. The 6’2″ Mazzulla has averaged 2.2 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game this year.

Hopefully we can play our fast game and zap their lungs like the NM game.

Unless you’re in New York reporting on this first-hand though, you should probably quote your info sources.
