Kavario Middleton Wants 50; I Want 100
University of Washington tight end Kavario Middleton says the Huskies will score 50 points on Saturday against Washington State in the Apple Cup. I need 50 points by halftime. I’m trying to get to Tacoma to see the Bothell-Skyline game (which, let’s face it, is a better matchup than Washington-Washington State) and need an excuse to leave at intermission.
So let’s try and put up 50 points by halftime, Huskies. I mean, you shouldn’t set your sights on a number this low. The scoring is technically infinite, though at some point the clock plays a role. And 50 points is, at the very least, a mere seven scores. Seven. That’s nothing.
Tell you what, I’ve been part NCAA Football games on XBox in which my computer-generated Huskies have put up nearly 200 points in a 20 minute contest, five minute quarters. If an AI Jake Locker can rush and pass for over 10 combined TDs, then the real-life QB should be able to do that too, right?
The Cougars are bad. Really, really bad. I’ve watched enough of their games to see that their record is no fluke. And yes, they will get jacked up for this game. And no, you should never underestimate or disrespect your opponent, no matter who that opponent may be. But these Cougars are essentially an NCAA junior varsity squad. They’ll be overmatched and overwhelmed from the opening kick, and that’s no knock on them, just the facts.
So come on, Kavario. Fifty is nothing. Give me triple digits and I’ll be happy. Thank you.

Okay, so I suggest that the winner of the Bothell Skyline game (BOTHELL) take on the winner of the Husky Cougar game! How great would that be?
