The point is that you don’t care about the thing you’re talking about, right? So you care so little that you couldn’t possibly care any less. If you say you “could care less”, what you’re really saying is that you actually do care a bit, because in fact you could possibly care less than you actually do. Thus it should be:

“I could’nt care less who wins a championship, could’nt care less whether LeBron has an MVP-type season, could’nt care less what happens as the season transpires.”
