There’s a rumor going around that former Utah Jazz center Greg “The Big O” Ostertag is on the verge of an NBA comeback. The 7’2″ big man worked out for the Portland Trailblazers last week, but has his heart set on a return to Salt Lake City, a city he called home for 11 seasons.

Ostertag retired from the league in 2006 and has been living in Arizona ever since.

Perhaps the most amazing thing about Ostertag’s retirement and pending comeback is that the University of Kansas product is only 36 years of age. Thirty-six! I pegged him for about 40, seeing as how the guy made his NBA debut when I was 11 years old. Samsonite, I was way off.

Over the past year and two weeks, it has become painfully clear that Paul Wulff has no idea what he’s doing. The head coach of the Washington State University football program is overmatched as a play caller in the Pac-10, and on top of all that his team is virtually talent-less. It’s a bad situation.

That said, I took the liberty of Googling the phrase “Fire Paul Wulff,” to which I received nine individual search results. Either nobody cares about Wulff, or people don’t want him fired, but I’m going with the former.

Next, I Googled “Employ Paul Wulff Forever,” whereupon I received zero, zilch, nil, no results. I broadened my search by eliminating “Forever” from the text, and simply searching “Employ Paul Wulff.” Still no returns. That’s job security right there.

Received an email today from a member of the Zaloumis family informing us that FSN analyst Nicole Zaloumis and her husband, professional baseball player Michael Jones (Who?! Mike Jones!), recently became proud parents of a baby boy. Here’s the context of the email:

“On 09-09-09 at 6:49 am — FSN Announcer Nicole Zaloumis Jones & Michael Jones delivered a beautiful baby boy (Michael David Jones, Jr.)  the day after AAA Nashville Sounds pitcher dad arrived home for the season. Baby arrived 2 weeks early and was just under 7 lbs. – 20-1/2 in. long. Both are doing fine.”

We wish Nicole and Michael the very best as they enter into parenthood together, and look forward to Nicole’s return on television. Thanks to Sarah for passing along the info.

Also, for most of you out there who would undoubtedly make the reference in the comments section anyways, the answer is yes, this does officially bump Nicole Zaloumis up to MILF status. Carry on.
