Fox is a great fantasy player right now who tore up the minors with a scorching bat to start the year. That said, he's an older prospect (26, I believe) who's entering that now-or-never phase that aging prospects always reach. In spite of all that, the Cubs would probably not be willing to move him at this point, as evidenced by their desire to use him at any defensive position these days in order to get his bat in the lineup.

Fox can play third, first, the corner outfield positions, and is even the team's emergency catcher. Don't let the versatility fool you, however. He's not much of a defender at any position, which is why he gets shuffled around so much.

At this point, Fox is a slightly younger version of Chris Shelton who the Cubs likely wouldn't give up without getting a lot in return for.

Let me tell you about an up and coming 3rd base prospect out of the Cubs organization. His defense is certainly not that of Beltre's but he just might be the bat the M's need in the middle of the order to push the into playoff contention. His name is JAKE FOX. He's a pure hitter with power. So far his numbers are: a .311 average with 4 HR's in 74 AB's.

He's perfect trade bait for the cubs because they can't find a place for him at 3rd now that Aramis is back and his true pos. at 1st is taken up by DLEE. I think I need to get these two GM"s together for drinks because there's a lot they should be talking about.
