Dawg Pack Dirt, Volume 5, Issue 6, Texas Southern University, December 6th, 2008

First of all, great job during the Oklahoma State game Dawg Pack! We were pretty electric and the whole arena fed off of it. We were in OSU’s head and we definitely affected the game. Here is a quote from OSU head coach Travis Ford:

“We had a hard time calling plays out from this bench because of the noise coming from the arena. I was very impressed by this Husky crowd. This was the best crowd I’ve seen. It was the best crowd I’ve been in front of in a long time. I can see the difference it makes for this team, because our players were having a very tough time hearing the calls. It was a very impressive student section and it was obvious that they really helped their team tonight.”

That’s the kind of energy we need to continue to bring every night and we all witnessed how fun it is to take part in dismantling and opponent.

Unfortunately, the dirt on Texas Southern is pretty slim pickins so we’ll have to improvise and just find people to pick on like we did so well against OSU.

The Game:
-Texas Southern Tigers at Washington Huskies
-Saturday, December 6th, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
-Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion

The Team:
-Texas Southern from Houston, TX makes its home in the Southwestern Athletic Conference which is home to 3-5 power house and current first place team, Prairie View A&M.
-After a rough season last year, going 7-25, the Tigers are off to another rough start this year and are currently 0-7 with notable losses to UTEP, Cincinnati, Marquette, Arkansas, and Bethune-Cookman.
-The Tigers do return 3 starters this season.

The Players:
-Jr. G #1 DeAndre Hall should put on a show for us considering he has 3 videos on his Facebook of him doing windmill dunks. He was also his school’s senior prom king. He shoots a solid 22% from the arc too.
-Sr. G #3 Matthew Miller shoots 26% from the 3 point line and apparently has a giant gash above his eye from getting elbowed in practice by somebody named KAM.
-Fr. G #12 Hamid Ford probably shouldn’t shoot anymore considering his FG% at 15%.
-Sr. F #15 Jacques Jones says, “I’m blessed with a look of innocence, good sex, and peanut butter complex.” He also sent me a message asking me, “Where all da grls at up ther?”
-Jr. F #20 Ricky Boyles shoots 33% from the charity stripe.
-Sr. G #23 David “Davo” Burrell claims that he’s an athlete which means he has a lot of stamina. He also claims to be the charming, romantic type. People tell him he looks like a young Denzel Washington too.
